Gold Luck is by the legendary Grand Prix Dressage Stallion Grundstein, who was imported to the US in 1985 after siring 13 fully approved breeding stallions in Germany. He has been the leading sire in the FN rankings among stallions in the top 10% of their age group in both jumping and dressage since 1988. In 1995 Grundstein's dressage index was 178 and his jumping index was 142. Gold Luck’s dam, Annette by Abundance, scored 8.2 at her mare inspection. In 1995 his full sister Graphitti was the high score Hanoverian Mare at her inspection.

Elite Mare Whispre (Weltmeyer - Brentano II - Ludendorf) was Champion Hanoverian Filly Foal and as a 3 year old was listed as an American Hanoverian Society Top Mare in 2001 with an inspection score of 7.5 points.  She was Champion Hanoverian Mare at the Rolling Stone Farm inspection and was Champion of her Mare Performance Test with high scores for gaits and rideability.  With only 100 days under saddle, she scored an incredible 8 on rideability.  With the birth of Ghlycerine,  EMC Whispre became EM Whispre. Ghlycerine was the top filly at the Rolling Stone Farm Inspection with a very large entry of 24 foals.  EM Whispre's only other foal, a filly by Royal Prince, was also named Champion Filly in another large inspection of 20+ foals.  The German Judge (Dr. Schade) declared that this foal was Championship quality and was the best foal he had seen all year in Germany and the US (see Fall 2005 AHS magazine)!   On the same Inspection day, Ghlycerine was named the Champion Hanoverian Mare in a large class at her inspection at Rolling Stone Farm with a great score of 7.83.  With this score, she was tied for the 3rd highest score for all Hanoverian mares inspected in 2005.  The two judges of the inspection (Dr. Schade and George Walker) were also very impressed with Ghlycerine and indicated that she was from the wonderful cross of the G-line with the B-line (see Fall 2005 AHS magazine).

Ghlycerine continues a long tradition of quality mares from this mareline, with her dam, grand-dam and great-grand-dam being Elite Mares or States Premium Mares (Elite Mares in the US are equivalent to the German SPS mares). This mareline decends from the Celle state stallions Weltmeyer (Hanoverian Verband Stallion of the Century) and Brentano II (sire of Brentina) who are well know for producing excellent movement and high rideability.   Ghlycerine's dam, EM Whispre, has shown an incredible ability to produce high quality foals from a variety of stallions, with all of her foals to date being Champions of their large inspections.

In 2004, two half brothers by Gold Luck were 9th and 12th in the Nation at USDF First Level (Golden Gift and Ghlenlivet, respectively).  Ghlenlivet is 3/4 related to Ghlycerine and is the full-brother of our mare Ghalewind.   In 2005, he continues to shine and was 5th in the nation at Second Level (USDF Rankings).  Ghlycerine is started under saddle and shows the same excellent rideability as her dam.  She is being prepared to complete the MPT during her 4 year old year.  She also has an extensive in-hand show record, and during her 3 year old year (2005), she has been Grand Champion of Show of 3 out of 4 USDF Breed Shows, beating many other high quality stallions, mares and young horses (click on Show Record Link for more details).  She is ranked 6th in the nation for 3 year old fillies.
